OUR PHILOSOPHY
The Lazarus Union is trying to help other people and to make other people happy. This assistance is independent of age, skin colour, religion, social status, or prestige of the needy. All employees of the Lazarus Union work voluntarily and receive no compensation for their work in Lazarus Union. All interaction is affected by a common feeling of companionship and characterized by respect and mutual appreciation. The honour and dignity of every Lazarus Union member are inviolable and viewed as the supreme goods. In all mutual interactions of CSLI members, the companionate “you” and the first name are used, regardless of rank and position in the Lazarus Union. The higher the position in the Lazarus Union, the higher the willingness must be to work voluntarily and without restraint of one’s own accord to serve other people.
Principles
- The Lazarus Union has roots dating back to 1973 and developed into today ‘s form in 2010. With currently more than 20.000 members is at the moment the largest of all “Lazarus-Formations“ worldwide.
- The Lazarus Union is an NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) in “General Consultant and Observer Status” with the United Nations (ECOSOC).
- According to its possibilities the Lazarus Union is a world-wide operating charity organisation supporting all who need help, friendship, comfort, or care.
- The Lazarus Union is open for all people who can identify themselves with the mission statement of the Lazarus Union and does never ask for the denomination of its members.
- The Lazarus Union considers and respects this right of freedom of religion as the sole and personal moral issue of every single member. After all, most religions of the world are represented in the Lazarus Union.
- The Lazarus Union vigorously resists any and all “assimilation“ attempts from certain religions and their representatives and stresses the full neutrality of the Lazarus Union against all religious communities.
- The Lazarus Union never puts any form of pressure on its members and leaves participation in religious activities solely in the conscience of the single member.
- Everyone who feels connected to these goals and is ready to work for these ideals, will be cordially welcome in the Lazarus Union .
