World Art Day 2025
Le 15th April we celebrate World Art Day, a day dedicated to the spirit and legacy of Leonardo da Vinci – a symbol of the union of art, science and humanity. The International Association of Art (IAA) established this day, and since 2019 it has also been officially supported by UNESCO.
The Lazarus Union, as a globally committed organisation for humanitarian aid, social cohesion and education, recognises the immeasurable importance of art as a universal language. Art transcends borders, heals wounds and promotes understanding and peace in an often divided world.
For Leonardo da Vinci, art was more than just expression – it was a tool for knowledge, a path to truth and a means of connecting with nature and the human spirit. This idea lives on in the work of the Lazarus Union Academy, which is dedicated to promoting education, intercultural dialogue and holistic personal development.
Especially in times of global challenges, it is all the more important to emphasise the value of art for our society. It promotes creativity, empathy and critical thinking – skills that we all need in order to shape a peaceful, just and sustainable future.
On World Art Day 2025, the Lazarus Union is calling for the promotion of art in all its forms, support for artists and access to cultural education for all people – regardless of origin, age or social status.
Art is humanity in colour, sound and movement. Let it shine.
